PS Plus May 2026: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws Lead a Strong Catalog Drop

PlayStation Plus subscribers are in for a strong month. Sony has officially revealed the Extra and Premium game catalog additions for May 2026, and the headliners are two absolute heavyweights: Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both drop into the catalog on May 19, giving Extra and Premium members a massive combined experience to sink their teeth into.

The Headliners

Red Dead Redemption 2 needs no introduction. Rockstar’s sprawling open-world epic set in the dying days of the American frontier is widely considered one of the greatest games ever made. If you’ve somehow never played it, this is a genuinely unmissable opportunity – it’s the kind of game you set aside a weekend for and then look up to find three weeks have passed. It joins the catalog on PS4.

Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars adventure, launched to a mixed but generally positive reception in 2024 and has since received substantial post-launch updates that addressed many early criticisms. The game puts you in the boots of Kay Vess, a scoundrel making her way through the galaxy’s criminal underworld, and it’s one of the best-looking Star Wars experiences in gaming. It’s available on PS5.

The Full May Catalog Lineup

Beyond the two headliners, May’s catalog additions span a solid range of genres and styles. Here’s the full list hitting Extra and Premium on May 19:

  • Star Wars Outlaws (PS5)
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)
  • Bramble: The Mountain King (PS4, PS5)
  • The Thaumaturge (PS5)
  • Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn (PS5)
  • Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged (PS4, PS5)
  • Enotria: The Last Song (PS5)
  • Time Crisis (PS4, PS5 – Premium only)

Bramble: The Mountain King is a dark, atmospheric fairy tale platformer that’s well worth a playthrough if you missed it. The Thaumaturge is a narrative RPG set in early 20th century Warsaw with a supernatural twist – it’s a niche pick but genuinely interesting if you enjoy story-driven RPGs. And for Premium subscribers, Time Crisis brings classic arcade rail-shooter nostalgia to the PS Classics Catalog.

Don’t Forget the Essential Games

If you’re on the base PlayStation Plus Essential tier, this month’s free monthly games are already available: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols have been available to claim since May 5. If you haven’t grabbed those yet, make sure you do – Wuchang in particular has been getting strong word of mouth as a challenging but rewarding action RPG.

All catalog additions go live on May 19. The official announcement is available on the PlayStation Blog.
