Persona 4 Revival Has Been Quietly Rated in South Korea – a Summer Reveal Looks Likely

The Korean game ratings board has quietly rated Persona 4 Revival – and if you know how these things usually go, that means a new trailer probably isn’t far off.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea (GRAC) received the submission on April 9, 2026, and issued a 15+ rating on April 24. The rating only surfaced publicly this week – spotted by eagle-eyed fans. Korean ratings filings have repeatedly served as reliable pre-announcement indicators, with games typically being officially revealed or shown off within weeks of their GRAC listing going public.

A Long Wait for a Beloved Game

Persona 4 Revival was first announced at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025 with a teaser trailer. Atlus and SEGA confirmed it would come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with the Xbox and PC versions being day-one Game Pass titles. Since that initial reveal, the studio has been largely quiet – no release window, no gameplay, no follow-up trailers.

The original Persona 4 (2008, PS2) and its expanded re-release Persona 4 Golden (2012, PS Vita) are among the most beloved JRPGs ever made. The story follows a group of high school students investigating a string of murders linked to a mysterious TV world, and its tone – equal parts coming-of-age drama and supernatural mystery – resonated deeply with players. Golden in particular is frequently cited as one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

Is Summer Game Fest the Target?

SEGA’s financial reports suggest the company is targeting Persona 4 Revival for fiscal year 2027, which runs from April 2026 through March 2027. That window is closing, and the Korea rating suggests the game is moving closer to a proper public reveal.

Summer Game Fest is on June 5, 2026 – less than two weeks away. It’s the most obvious venue for Atlus to finally show Persona 4 Revival in a meaningful way, and the timing of the Korea rating surfacing now lines up suspiciously well with that theory.

For comparison, Persona 3 Reload – the last major Persona remake – was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2023 and launched in February 2024, roughly eight months later. If Persona 4 Revival follows a similar timeline from its own reveal (June 2025), a late 2026 launch would make sense.

No official announcement has been made, and Atlus has not commented on the rating. But in the gaming industry, Korean ratings boards have a habit of telling you exactly what you need to know before the press release does.
