Today is a big day for PlayStation Plus subscribers – but not entirely in a good way. May 19 brings a fresh wave of games to the PS Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members, but the very same day sees eight games leave the service for good. If you’ve been meaning to play Control, Mortal Shell, or any of the other departing titles, your window closes today.
What’s Leaving PS Plus Today
The eight games exiting PS Plus Extra and Premium on May 19, 2026 are: Control: Ultimate Edition, MotoGP 25, Sand Land, Soul Hackers 2, Mortal Shell, Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope.
The biggest loss is Control: Ultimate Edition – Remedy Entertainment’s acclaimed supernatural action game that earned widespread praise on release and has remained a firm fan favourite. The Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the Foundation and AWE DLC expansions, and all additional content. If you haven’t played it yet and you’re a PS Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, today is your last chance to start it for free.
What’s Arriving to Replace Them
On the brighter side, the new wave of additions hitting PS Plus Extra and Premium today is genuinely strong. Headlining the arrivals is Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rockstar’s sprawling, acclaimed open-world western, which is making its second appearance on PS Plus. Also joining are Star Wars Outlaws, Bramble: The Mountain King, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged, and Entoria: The Last Song. PS Plus Premium members also get the classic Time Crisis added to the Classics catalog.
Additionally, May’s monthly free games for all PS Plus subscribers (Essential and above) are already live and include EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols.
What About June?
Sony hasn’t announced June 2026’s PS Plus lineup yet. Based on the typical pattern, the announcement should arrive around May 27, about two weeks before the games go live. Stay tuned to Papermoss for coverage when the reveal drops.
If you want to claim any of the departing games before they’re gone, head to the PlayStation Plus page now – the clock is ticking.
